Minecraft Sulfur Caves Guide: Mobs, Blocks, & More
Pubblicato il da
Hidden deep beneath the overworld are caverns of yellow and red where slimes roam and water rises with sickly gas. Getting there is easy, but one wrong step may leave you queasy. Today, we explore the Minecraft sulfur caves biome in our sulfur caves biome guide.
Sulfur caves are a new biome coming in the Chaos Cubed game drop later this year. They are easily spotted due to their yellow sulfur blocks and red cinnabar blocks and often contain pools of water that visibly emit gas and explosions of steam. A new mob, the sulfur cube, also calls this biome home and can often be seen hopping throughout it.
Despite being mostly underground, those searching for a sulfur cave will have the best luck finding one by quickly traversing the overworld’s surface. This is because sulfur caves generate with a sulfur spring on the surface to indicate that one can be found below, or, in rare cases, the biome partially generates on the surface itself. Those with commands enabled or operator permissions on a server can also use the command “/locate biome” to find one right away.
Sulfur blocks offer a complete stone block set of warm, yellow-colored blocks. They are purely decorative.

Potent sulfur blocks generate at the bottom of the water pools found within sulfur cave biomes and emit visible gas that rises to and above the surface. Players who interact with the gas are inflicted with the nausea status effect. Potent sulfur is also the key block that, when combined with a few others, creates the geysers seen throughout the biome.
Sulfur cubes, or sulfur slimes, are a new passive mob exclusive to the Minecraft sulfur caves biome. They share many behaviors with their green and magma cousins but come with a few unique features that make them distinct. The first is that mini slimes created from damaging the sulfur cube will eventually grow into large sulfur cubes, making it possible to duplicate them. The second is that players can make a sulfur cube absorb a block, forcing it into a damage-immune, unmoving state.
In this state, players can strike the sulfur cube, causing it to fly off like a light and bouncy ball. The more damage dealt, the farther it goes. The block a sulfur cube has absorbed also grants unique properties to its ball-like state. For example, absorbing ice will make the sulfur cube slide around when hit, while an iron block will make it much heavier. An absorbed block can only be removed with shears.
