The Breeze – An Overview

The Breeze is an air variant of the Blaze that shoots Wind Charges at players, sending them flying. Spawning exclusively in Trial Chambers, their battlefields are designed to be to their advantage, with various high grounds and traps activated by their Wind Charges. Proceed with caution!

Where to Find the Minecraft 1.21 Breeze

Breeze mobs spawn exclusively within Trial Chambers, a structure that generates between layers -20 and -40 of the overworld. Players seeking the Breeze will first need to brave a Trial Chamber’s copper and tuff halls where many combat challenges reside. Then, typically at its end, a room with Trial Spawners surrounded by Chiseled Tuff will be discovered. Chiseled Tuff indicates that the Trial Spawner will spawn the Breeze. The specific number that Trial Spawners can spawn varies depending on the number of players nearby, but a cleared Trial Spawner will always return in thirty minutes’ time. The specific numbers can be found below:

• Maximum Mob Count: 1 + 0.5 Per Additional Player
• Total Mobs Spawned: 2 + 1 Per Additional Player

Defeating the Minecraft 1.21 Breeze

Players taking on the Breeze will need to watch out for their projectile called “Wind Charge.” While it does little damage, it is capable of sending players flying and activating Redstone devices such as Levers, Buttons, and Trapdoors. It is important to remember the rooms have been designed in the Breeze’s favor, meaning Redstone traps are more than likely to be around. As for defenses, the Breeze is completely immune to Arrows, thrown Tridents, and fall damage. Melee combat is required. Once the fight has begun, watch your surroundings and approach the Breeze. It will hop around the battlefield rapidly, making it hard to catch, but with persistence, it is quickly defeated, especially if more than one player is present.

Wind Charges

At this time, the Breeze drops a single item called a “Breeze Rod” in batches of one to two. These rods can be broken down into four Wind Charges each, used in part to craft the Mace, or used to craft the Flow Armor Trim. Wind Charges, specifically, are projectiles much like those the Breeze fires itself and are thrown using the “Use Control” button, which is right-click on a mouse or left trigger on a controller, and have a ten-second cooldown before reuse. Depending on where the Wind Charge is thrown and what it hits, its effects will vary. If thrown at a mob or player, it will knock them back while dealing a slight amount of damage. If thrown at the ground beneath one’s feet, it will launch the user into the air without dealing fall damage if landing at or above their initial Y level. Finally, Wind Charges also interact with a variety of Redstone blocks. Doors, Trapdoors, Fence Gates, and Levers are all flipped, Buttons and Bells are activated, Chorus Flowers and Decorated Pots break, and Candles are extinguished. Wind Charges can also be fired from dispensers to achieve any of the effects above.
