DayZ Badlands Release Date & Price

DayZ players should expect the Badlands Expansion to be released sometime in 2026, according to the game’s Steam page. Based on the release of the DayZ Frostline DLC, Badlands might be launching sometime in the fourth quarter of 2026. The Badlands DLC should also be priced at under $25.

Badlands New Content & Features

New Map

Nasdara, the new map in Badlands, is DayZ’s largest official map, spanning 267 km2 and filled with sand, cacti, and everything you can ask for in a desert-themed environment. Located west of Chernarus and set in the fictional country of Takistan, this map has many stories of battles hidden beneath its dunes. Nonetheless, Nasdara is set in spring, which means there’s some color and life to it in the otherwise arid wasteland.

Dynamic Weather

Those playing in the DayZ Badlands Expansion map will also experience dynamic weather. However, information is currently scarce regarding this new feature and its mechanics. Still, we can speculate that the desert environment may bring extreme heat or sandstorms, which may require players to seek shelter.

New Animals

Additional wildlife that fits the desert environments of Nasdara will also be added in DayZ Badlands. Note that some of these new creatures are hostile, adding extra challenge layers to players. Perhaps these animals may include snakes, camels, scorpions, and gazelles.

New Equipment

The DayZ Badlands DLC will also include new desert-themed clothes. However, these garments aren't only for show, as they also provide some protection against the elements. For instance, certain clothing items offer the wearer low resistance to cold but are lighter than wearing other equipment, like body armor. Additionally, the expansion will add more guns to DayZ’s firearms library. Although the specifics as to what weapons will be added to the game aren't disclosed at the time of writing, players can expect variants like old-school rifles.

New Vehicles

DayZ players will be able to traverse the sandy terrain of Nasdara in the Badlands DLC with more wheeled forms of transportation. Currently, the developers haven’t specified which vehicles they’ll add with the expansion. Rebuilding Mechanic

Nasdara is, for the most part, a desert wasteland. So, players must ration their water supplies while staying on this map. However, a new rebuilding system will be added to the DayZ Badlands Expansion, wherein players must reconstruct certain structures for survival, including wells. Rebuilding these water sources is vital for optimal survival in this dry wilderness.

Terrain Blending Feature

With the release of the Badlands Expansion, all maps in DayZ will receive enhanced terrain graphics. The improved graphics will not only provide additional immersion and realism but also add natural cover for players hiding from enemy sight.
