How to Craft Wool Cloth in Aloft

Players must go through different steps before crafting Wool Cloth in Aloft. Note that achieving this goal may require several hours of exploration, particularly when searching for crafting recipes. With that said, here are the steps to craft this resource:

Finding Sheep

Generally, most Aloft players must search for sheep on one of the floating islands. Fortunately, you can find one minding its business in one of the islands east of the starting archipelago. Once found, hold “E” by default to send the critter to your home island.

Sheep Rearing

Feed the sheep hay once the animal is in your care. It can be a good idea to build a trough (if you have the crafting recipe) and place hay in it. That way, the sheep stays happy even when you're not on your home island. Note that sheep will only produce Wool if they’re happy. Additionally, if you brought home a lamb, you must wait for the animal to become an adult. Remember, only adult sheep can produce Wool in Aloft.

Crafting Shears

While waiting for the sheep to produce Wool, you can gather materials to craft a pair of Shears. Craft it by using 2x Hard Stone and 1x Carved Wood. Crafting Carved Wood is possible by using 3x Wood and 1x Hard Stone.

Using Shears

Assuming that your sheep can now produce Wool, use the Shears on the animal. Doing so should give you 1x Wool. Once completed, wait for the sheep to produce Wool again. Remember to keep the animal well-fed during this time.

Crafting the Loom

Then, find the crafting recipe for the Loom while your sheep makes another Wool coat. Follow the question marks (?) on your map, which should eventually lead you to the Loom crafting recipe. It should be on one of the islands in the outer ring of the world map. Once you have the Loom crafting recipe in your possession, return to your home island and craft it using 5x Curved Wood, 5x Wool Thread, and 2x Cog Wheel. Tip: Ease the grind in finding the items needed to craft Wool Cloth by requesting help from other players in an Aloft multiplayer server.

Interact with the Loom and place 1x Wool in it. Doing so should allow you to craft 3x Wool Cloth in Aloft for every unit of Wool.
