Where to Find Resin Clumps

As of Minecraft 1.21.4, resin clumps have three sources out in the world. The first is from chests in woodland mansions, a structure rarely generated within dark forest biomes. The second is from destroying creaking hearts, which drops one to three resin clumps. Finally, the third is from hitting a creaking mob and harvesting resin generated around the logs where its creaking heart resides. Of all these options, we recommend the third as it results in an unlimited supply with proper positioning of the creaking.

Resin Clump Uses

Block of Resin

By placing one resin clump on all nine slots of a crafting table, a block of resin can be made. This item, alongside two pale oak logs, can then be crafted into a creaking heart, giving the power to summon forth the creaking wherever one may desire.

Resin Bricks

Resin clumps can also be smelted in a furnace to create resin bricks. These are mainly used to create the resin brick block set, but one can also add resin bars to smithing templates to give any armor set an eerie creaking heart orange trim.

Resin bricks crafted into resin brick blocks can be used to craft a complete brick block set, including a chiseled variant, slabs, stairs, and walls. These items are entirely decorative with no hidden uses.

Farming Minecraft Resin Clumps

Resin clumps can be generated on pale oak logs surrounding a creaking heart once every five seconds by striking its connected creaking. This can be done on naturally generated creaking hearts, but it is more easily set up with those that have been gathered or crafted and placed manually. Remember that a manually placed creaking heart must be stacked vertically between two pale oak logs in order for it to activate. A basic setup one can use for resin clump farming is setting up an illuminated area with torches, placing a pale oak log, creaking heart, and second pale oak log stacked vertically, and then waiting for night. The creaking will spawn somewhere within 32 blocks and can be taunted over by looking at it for a short time and then looking away. Once present, line the creaking up with the creaking heart like in the image above, and punch it to generate resin clumps. As long as the creaking is kept in sight, resin clumps can be generated and gathered until the sun begins to rise with no danger at all.
