Generally, Sturdy Chitin drops from insects and armored creatures in Hytale. New players in Zones 1 and 2 can kill mobs like armadillos, scorpions, and tortoises to farm the material. Underground explorers in Zone 2 can defeat Scarak monsters to get Sturdy Chitin. Out of all the enemies, the Scarak Broodmother can drop 4 to 6x Sturdy Chitin, making it the enemy that can drop the most of this resource. However, finding and defeating this boss makes farming more tedious than intended, even with allies in the same Hytale server helping you deal with this foe. Sturdy Chitin Uses & Crafting Recipes in Hytale

Sturdy Chitin is an ingredient to craft the Small Scarak Hive Chest. However, as of Update 2, that’s the only crafting recipe that uses Sturdy Chitin as an ingredient. In particular, players must use 3x Sturdy Chitin, 2x Thorium Ingot, and 2x Medium Leather at a Tier 1 Furniture Workbench. Alternatively, Sturdy Chitin is one of the materials used to upgrade two workstations: the Tanning Rack and Armorer’s Workbench. Use 5x Light Leather, 5x Medium Leather, 5x Heavy Leather, and 5x Sturdy Chitin to upgrade a Tier 1 Tanning Rack to Tier 2. On the other hand, use 25x Thorium Ingot, 25x Cobalt Ingot, 40x Shadoweave Scraps, 40x Sturdy Chitin, and 3x Voidheart on a Tier 2 Armorer’s Workbench to upgrade it to Tier 3.
