Players looking to enchant the ultimate Elytra will want to aim for the enchantments we have listed above. In other words, all of them. The Elytra is not an item that can be enchanted on an enchanting table, so both Unbreaking III and Mending I will need to come from enchanted books. Enchanted books can be obtained from many sources, including villager trading, structure loot, fishing, and enchanting books on an enchanting table. Once an Unbreaking III book and Mending I book are in hand, craft an anvil if one has not already been made and place the Elytra and book inside. Regardless of the order, putting both enchantments on a fresh Elytra will cost six levels. A final important note is that enchanted books can sometimes have Unbreaking III or Mending I alongside other random enchantments such as Sharpness. Thankfully, that does not mean they can’t be used. Attempting to apply those books to Elytra on an anvil will only apply the compatible enchantments, but this does result in the other enchantments being lost forever.
