Having difficulty making changes to configuration.txt for plugin edit

First off, I'm using a mac, and cyberduck.

I have already loaded dynmap in to the plugin folder in my ftp, and I'm aware of the process I have to go through to change the ip and port, all that.

When I click edit though on my dynmap.jar in cyberduck, go through text editor and make the edits in the configuration.txt file, then save, the save doesn't seem to go through.

I say this because when I click edit again on the .jar file for dynmap, within the configuration.txt file in text editor, none of the edits I made are there, it's all default. Also, if I click edit soon after doing it in the first place, there are duplicate dynmap folders created, so that's why I"m assuming my edits aren't going through.

Any help at all on this would be great!

    - I know that bisect suggests filezilla for mac users, but all of the downloads I could find online supposedly had adware on them and I didn't want to download that.
