Hytale Username Reservation: Start Date, How to Reserve, Character Limits, & More
Publicado el por
Hytale early access is nearly here, bringing with it the hectic rush of ensuring your favorite name is secure. So, today, we explore the Hytale username reservation start date, process, and restrictions, alongside the consequences for taking names with the intent of selling them to peers.
Hytale name reservations begins soon for the general player base. One of the developers working on Hytale has recently posted the link to create an account for the game. This post mentioned that tokens for reserving each player’s name will be sent to registered email addresses within “the next couple days.” Note that the developer published the post on December 8. So, players should expect the tokens to arrive at their registered email addresses as early as December 10.
The reservation takes place alongside the pre-order process, meaning most names are first come, first served. However, the Hytale team has stated they will reclaim names from those who have reserved them with the purpose of “reselling, trading, ransom or maliciously blocking others from getting that name” per their ToS and EULA.
Here are the steps to create an account and reserve your username in Hytale:
Hytale usernames are unique, meaning only one of each can be claimed. These names must consist of 3-16 characters, have no symbols, and be alphanumeric. An example of an acceptable name would be “BlockFan123”, as it consists of only 11 characters, has no special symbols, and uses only numbers (0-9) and letters (a-z).
Additionally, and as mentioned above, taking a name with the purpose of “reselling, trading, ransom, or maliciously blocking others from getting that name” is against the ToS and EULA. Recent Q&As also suggest that taking the name of “a well-known person” counts as blocking them from getting it. The specifics of who qualifies as “a well-known person” and how exactly the names need to be for VIPs to reclaim them have not yet been clarified.
